Quick start guide to set up your Bookd account and create your first booking

Getting Started with Bookd

Welcome! This guide will help you set up your account and create your first booking in minutes.

Step 1: Create Your Account

  1. Visit your application's signup page
  2. Sign up with your email or Google account
  3. Verify your email address
  4. Complete your profile

Step 2: Create Your Organization

After signing in, you'll be prompted to create your organization:

  1. Enter your business name
  2. Select your timezone
  3. Choose your preferred language (English or 繁體中文)
  4. Select your currency
  5. Choose your organization slug (used in your landing page URL)

Your organization is the top-level container for all your shops, staff, and bookings.

Automatic Landing Page: When you create your organization, you'll automatically get a landing page at yourdomain.com/org/[your-slug] that lists all your shop locations. Learn more about your organization landing page

Step 3: Set Up Your First Shop

A shop represents a physical location or branch of your business:

  1. Go to Shops from the sidebar
  2. Click Create Shop
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Shop Name: e.g., "Downtown Barbershop"
    • URL Slug: e.g., "downtown-barbershop" (used in booking links)
    • Timezone: Select your shop's timezone
    • Contact Email: For booking notifications
    • Address (optional): Physical location

Your booking page will be available at: yourdomain.com/book/your-slug

Step 4: Add Services

Services are what you offer to customers:

  1. Open your shop's settings
  2. Go to the Services tab
  3. Click Add Service
  4. Enter:
    • Name: e.g., "Haircut"
    • Duration: e.g., 30 minutes
    • Price: e.g., $25
    • Description: Brief description of the service

Step 5: Add Staff Members

Add team members who can accept bookings:

  1. In shop settings, go to Staff tab
  2. Click Add Staff
  3. Enter staff details:
    • Name: Staff member's name
    • Email (optional): For notifications
    • Active: Toggle to enable/disable

Assign services to staff members by clicking on a staff member and selecting which services they provide.

Step 6: Configure Operating Hours

Set when your shop is open for bookings:

  1. Go to the Schedule tab in shop settings
  2. Set operating hours for each day of the week
  3. Add special days (holidays, closures) if needed

Step 7: Create Your First Booking

You're ready to accept bookings! There are two ways:

Share this link with customers via:

  • Social media
  • Website
  • QR codes
  • Email

Option B: Manual Booking (Walk-ins)

  1. Go to your shop's operations dashboard
  2. Click New Booking on the calendar
  3. Select:
    • Service
    • Staff member
    • Date & time
    • Customer details
  4. Click Create Booking
